A couple of weeks ago Australian rapper Iggy Azalea became the first woman to lay claim to the cover of XXL’s Freshman Class issue prompting rapper Azealia Banks to tweet “How can you endorse a white woman who called herself a ‘runaway slave master?’”

Now T.I.–who is going to be producing Azalea’s upcoming disc — has weighed in on the beefdespite the fact he admits he’s never heard Banks’ music, saying “Strategically, if she really cares about a freshman cover maybe she could hope that she’ll suck enough to get shelved and then next year when the freshman cover comes back around, maybe she’ll still be a freshman.” Sick burn!

    Jay-Z performed at the South by Southwest festival in Austin last night. We were not there. Rather than get depressed about it, however, we decided to watch endless hours of Jay-Z interviews, during which we learned a lot about the rapper. Ten of these facts are listed below, but the one thing we found most interesting about the footage was that it made us more obsessed with him than ever. There’s just something about him — he’s shy, he’s smart, he’s talented, and he once shot someone…check out what else we learned below!

SXSW: Jay-Z Rolls Through The Hits At Special Concert

It was recently announced that Jay-Z would return to SXSW, this time to perform a special live-streamed show sponsored by AMEX. And, truly, the concert, which took place in ACL Live’s concert hall inside the Austin W Hotel, will certainly be hard to top this week as the music part of the festival kicks off.

Hova took the stage a little before 8 p.m., accompanied by two DJs and a drummer. The rapper immediately launched into his hits, spitting out track after tracks in what ended up being about a 90-minute set. There were a few false starts, the first during “Where I’m From.” Jay cut the track off, telling the audience, “Y’all came to see a live show right?” But where most artists would be flustered, Jay-Z grinned even wider and tried again, this time for the better.
