.

Beyonce may have only recently given birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter (do we have to put a trademark next to that now?), but she’s already working on not one, but two projects for this year.
.

Songwriter and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, who just won a Grammy for contributing to Adele’s 21, spoke to The Boombox this week about Beyonce’s plans for 2012. .

Beyonce will join her husband Jay-Z as the next music artist to become the subject of a college class. Rutgers University in New Jersey currently offers a course called “Politicizing Beyonce.”
.

The class is taught by lecturer and PH.D student Kevin Allred via the university’s Women’s and Gender Studies department. According to the university’s website, “the performer’s music and career are used as lenses to explore American race, gender, and sexual politics. Allred pairs Beyonce’s music videos and lyrics with readings from the Black feminist canon.” The course apparently looks at the extent of Beyonce’s control over her own aesthetic, whether her often half-naked body is empowered or stereotypical, as well as her relationship to other singers like Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Lady Gaga.
