Nicki MInaj’s new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 this week, knocking Madonna’s MDNA out of the top slot. Minaj’s sophomore disc sold 253,000 copies in its first week, which is slightly more than expected.

Minaj’s debut, Pink Friday, debuted at No. 2 on the chart on December, 11, 2010 with 375,000 copies sold, although that higher number is related to the fact that the disc was released on Black Friday. As for Madonna? Well, her new effort is down to No. 8 with only 48,000 copies sold. This marks an 86.7 percent drop from last week, where the singer sold 359,000 copies of MDNA. This drop is actually very similar to the one Lady Gaga’s Born This Way saw last year. That disc 84.27 percent in its second week, initially selling 1.11 million before falling to only 174,000 in its second week.

Much controversy has followed M.I.A.’s decision to flip off the cameras during her guest spot in Madonna’s Super Bowl halftime show. And sure, everyone has an opinion. But the opinion we’re most curious about is that of Madonna herself.

The singer spoke to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show today and offered her thoughts on M.I.A.’s actions. “I was really surprised,” Madonna told Seacrest. “I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity; it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager, irrelevant thing to do… There was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point? It was just out of place.”

It seems that Madonna may have enlisted Britney Spears for her upcoming new disc MDNA. A copy of the album’s liner notes have apparently leaked and Spears is listed as appearing on a track called “Girls Gone Wild.”

The leaked album jacket appeared today on a Spears fansite called Breathe Heavy and although it is not confirmed as being authentic, it certainly looks real to us. See the image below:
