First MTV relaunched the cartoon classic Beavis And Butthead and now the network has announced that next month it will be doing the same thing to Punk’d and, better yet, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber will be featured in the rotating cast of celebrity hosts.
The new voice of Occupy Wall Street is… Miley Cyrus?
The pop singer and actress, who is notably part of the 1 percent, has a
song in a newly released video from something called the Miley Cyrus
Cyrus’ track “Liberty Walk” appears in a video titled “Don’t Give Up:
It’s a Liberty Walk!” which features footage of Occupy rallies around
the world. The video’s text notes, “This is dedicated to the thousands
of people who are standing up for what they believe in.” Okay…
Cyrus has not actually appeared at any of the Occupy rallies nor has
she exactly made any comments about the issue, however the video first
appeared on her official YouTube channel. Priscilla Grim, co-editor of
“The Occupied Wall Street Journal,” told TMZ that Cyrus’ video “rocks”
but doesn’t have anything to back it up. “I double dog dare [her] to
fight on the front line of economic civil rights at LA City Hall,” Grim
said. “Revolutionaries occupy, Ms. Cyrus.”
Cyrus has been making waves in the media recently for her outward rebellion against being a former Disney good girl so it’s safe to say this may just be another attention-seeking move like her comments about weed. Russell Simmons seems to think Cyrus is genuine concerned about the 99 percent, though.
