Van Halen will release their new album, A Different Kind Of Truth, on February 7– the first new disc from the group since 1998. The album is also the first release from Van Halen with original frontman David Lee Roth since 1984. The first single from the album is a track called “Tattoo,” which was released today in the U.S. The track already has a music video (see below) than showcases the band still swaggering around like they used to. The album, out via Interscope, will be available in a regular edition, as well as a deluxe package that includes a DVD with four acoustic performance videos titled “The Downtown Sessions.” The acoustic video include renditions of “Panama,” “You And Your Blues,” “You Really Got Me” and “Beautiful Girls.” Check out the full tracklisting below: 1. Diehard Van Halen fans awoke this morning to the ultimate gift when the band announced that they would once again be reuniting with original frontman David Lee Roth for a 2012 Tour. The band released a teaser on their site which showed Roth and the band’s remaining two original members Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen jamming out to a soundtrack of classic Van Halen tunes like “Panama” in order to tease this highly anticipated tour.

Van Halen is reportedly
signing a new label deal with Interscope Records this week. According
to Billboard, the iconic rock group should secure the deal by Friday and
will release its first album with frontman David Lee Roth since 1984. So basically there’s hasn’t been a new Van Halen album with Roth
since before most of you were born. The group was initially thought to
be signing with Columbia, but according to The Hollywood Reporter,
a source noted that the Interscope chairman “heard the band was
available and wanted to work with them. It was decided at the 11th
hour.” The report also says Roth wanted to sign with a West Coast label,
indicating that Interscope would prevail over Columbia. Roth originally left Van Halen in 1985 and Sammy Hagar jumped in as
vocalist. For a short time later singer Gary Cherone stepped in, but
it’s only been since Roth rejoined the band, which also include
guitarist Eddie Van Halen, bassist Wolfgang Van Halen and drummer Alex
Van Halen, in 2006 that we have any faith in a new record. Neither Interscope nor Van Halen have officially announced the signing, and there’s no indication of when fans may expect the new album. The Hollywood Reporter says that album “is believed to be nearly finished with the hope that it can be released in 2012.” Van Halen is rumored to be making a special announcement at the Grammy Awards nominations concert on November 30.
